Description by Max Pritchard Architects A relaxed home set in a leafy suburban road opens to a north dealing with courtyard and pool. The road elevation performs on the normal home type with the basic gable finish of golden plywood cantilevering over the storage. A sculptural white wall flows from the doorway by way of the courtyard the place it varieties the backdrop to the swimming pool. Recessed into this wall is the outside kitchen lined with golden plywood contrasting with the crisp white partitions. A beneficiant main bedroom and ensuite cantilever over the top of the pool. Excessive operable louvres create versatile outside areas and choices for shading the dwelling space. The lofty open plan dwelling space is oriented to the courtyard and pool. A restrained palette of white, plywood, timber, chrome steel and stone greys have been used all through the home to offer it a relaxed ‘resort’ really feel. A dramatic cantilever bench within the kitchen is wrapped in timber and is matched with a bespoke eating desk incorporating the detailing of the island bench. The low upkeep outside area is landscaped to match the clear minimal inner areas with garden and punctiliously positioned timber and plantings.
